Alex Cherry (born June 13, 1985) is an italian musician, singer and songwriter best known as the drummer for the anglo-italian band, The Afterglow. He played in the band for over 15 years, and wrote (or took part in the writing process of) some of the songs, including one of the most popular singles, Journey. It was in 2017 that he felt he had to leave the band to try and build up something new out of the countless demos he filled up his computer with during the years; that led to Paper, his first single, produced by the talented Italian musician, Andrea Laszlo De Simone, released in 2018.
For Paper Alex also produced a homemade videoclip and this started a little “tradition” of self-made videoclips for his songs and this way of thinking also extended to his music, of which the artist took full control, starting to record and produce at his place, leaving only the mixing & mastering process to external professionals.
Alex is currently living in Italy in his house lost in the woods writing, producing and releasing new music.
