Alex Smalls

Oak Cliff native Alex Smalls recently signed to SONY ORCHARD’s Greylyfe Records. Smalls is an R&B/Pop recording artist and music producer who plays drums, guitars, keyboards. The latest single on Greylyfe, “My Wifey” is out now with the music video on BET Soul.

Smalls grew up around the music business. From the time he was days old, Smalls was at his family’s studio mixing console, quickly learning all about the recording process.

Being a member of the National Honor Society and leading an award winning drumline would seem to keep most students fully occupied. However, Smalls began to sing, and play guitar and keyboards. Putting these musical skills to use, Smalls started the pop-rock band, “Just Say Yes." The band performed at Six Flags over Texas, the Deep Ellum’s Prophet Bar, House of Blues Dallas, Meyerson Performance Hall, Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie and many other venues. The band released an EP titled, “That’s How Rumors Get Started.”

Smalls took a hiatus from music while attending SMU and graduated with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics. After graduation, Smalls resumed music full-time, releasing the Alex Smalls, Lil Twist, and Fooly Faime collaboration “I Been On” in 2017. Smalls followed up with three singles and an acoustic EP. He has been played on Dallas radio many times. Also, singles "Red Rover" and "Drippin'" have been well received, and resulted in Smalls being signed to Greylyfe/SONY Orchard Records.
