Alexander Lynch is an artist who makes alternative R&B music that is equal parts cinematic and electronic. He was born and raised in the 4,000 person town of Norway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where he was performing as a singer by age 10. It wasn’t until he was 23 that he was able to move away from Norway and its small town lifestyle. He settled in Grand Rapids, where he wrote and released his 2016 EP “Love Lives” with producer Ryan McCarthy. The project brought him to the forefront of a strong Grand Rapids indie scene, and put him on bills across Michigan with the likes of SG Lewis and Quinn XCII. In the summer of 2017, driven by his childhood love for Motown, Lynch relocated to Detroit and started working as an artist-in-residence at the collaborative recording space Assemble Sound. He’s featured on forthcoming tracks by indie-electronic standout Manatee Commune, and has a new body of work written at Assemble Sound that he’ll begin releasing at the beginning of 2018. Alexander Lynch is also a full time father to his Chow-Husky dog Leo.
