Alexandra is an award winning composer, musician and teacher based in North London, UK. She writes music for short films and stand-alone instrumentals influenced by jazz, classical and electronic music. Her music has appeared on BBC Radio 3, BBC Sounds and Radio 1 Czechia and she has won, and been a finalist in, various international composing, song writing and scoring competitions.
Her most recent release (26.06.25) is a set of viola pieces which work either as viola and piano duets or viola duets. Scores have been published by Clifton Edition (AltoTastic Book 1).
Perspectives, her album of 19 piano miniatures, was released on 23.11.23. Scores for all the tracks are available to buy from her website.
Track 2, Something For The Weekend, and Track 9, Push Pull, are also on Trinity College London's piano exam syllabus at Grade 6 and Grade 7 respectively.
Track 5, Unfinished Business, appeared on BBC Sounds' The Sleeping Forecast 24/10/23, guided by Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Track 13, Ripples, was used on BBC Sounds' The Sleeping Forecast: A soundtrack for cosy nights on 23/09/2024.
Alexandra's works for string orchestra are published by Wingert Jones and works for recorder by ABRSM, appearing on the current Grade 1 and Grade 2 syllabus (Recorder Mix).
Her work for short film is being released via mini EPs and encompasses jazz, house, and classical music.
