Alexis deals in uncomfortable feelings. Weaving vulnerable experiences into intimate song, the independent singer/songwriter candidly explores their mental health struggles, a wobbly sense of gender identity, and a variety of complicated relationships—only to recover our inherent need for compassion and connection.
When CoViD hit too close to home in 2021, Alexis instinctively turned to the very same piano on which they’d started composing at the tender age of eleven. The raw, veracious material they wrote became a compass that promised an easier, more authentic life.
Influenced by contemporary folk artists like <a href="spotify:artist:726Dh6A5VyDfAAQxilT6A0" data-name="Amanda Palmer">Amanda Palmer</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3z6Gk257P9jNcZbBXJNX5i" data-name="Regina Spektor">Regina Spektor</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1AgxgADPuRIW1wyaA4OKcB" data-name="Tom Rosenthal">Tom Rosenthal</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2txHhyCwHjUEpJjWrEyqyX" data-name="Tom Odell">Tom Odell</a>, the Berlin-based non-binary indie artist is currently producing their debut EP in cooperation with producer Adrian P. Sanchez (NÍNIVE—<a href="spotify:track:2tnK8pwq866teIWip1c7oJ" data-name="Aleluya">Aleluya</a>) and mixing engineer Ivo Sloman (Korora—<a href="spotify:track:2nMXLOcrmdfMieXJFqSuIM" data-name="Empty Matchbox">Empty Matchbox</a>).
