With a raspy voice, an aggressive flow, and lyrics that focus on life on the streets, rapper Alfamega rose to fame in 2008 thanks to T.I. and the hood anthem "Uh Huh." The hulking Atlanta native launched his career in 2002 after serving seven years in prison. It was that year he took the 1,700 songs he wrote while incarcerated to a family friend, Beanie Sigel. Sigel was interested but couldn't seal the deal so Alfamega landed on Universal thanks to a collaboration with David Banner. He was dropped from the label in 2004 before any product appeared. In 2005 he signed with Grand Hustle and joined label boss T.I. on tour. Three years later the label released the hard-hitting club number "Uh Huh" as the first single from his debut album I Am Alfamega. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
