Alfonso Terán is a Venezuelan-Mexican singer-songwriter recognized as the first Latin artist to pioneer the genre Latin Country Music, a unique fusion of country sounds with the richness of Latin rhythms. His journey began in 2005 in Charlotte, NC, where he first performed with a country music band. In 2015, he released his debut EP and the single “Mi Único Adiós”, which quickly gained attention on LATAM radios.
In 2018, Terán earned his first Latin GRAMMY® nomination in the category Best Contemporary Tropical Album as a Graphic Designer. His single “Cambiaste Todo” (2020) went viral, surpassing 3 million views on YouTube and 1.5 million streams on Spotify, followed by releases “Me Fallaste” and “Abracadabra”.
Since 2023, he has released songs including “Como Yo”, “Amor De Mi Vida”, and “Tus Reglas Del Juego”. In 2024, he received his second Latin GRAMMY® nomination as composer, recording engineer, and featured artist for <a href="spotify:artist:3p8aW7ByUTuXOA7RI9A10T" data-name="Payasitas Nifu Nifa">Payasitas Nifu Nifa</a>. In 2025, his second EP - Latin Country Music winning the Tacarigua de Oro International Award (Miami) as Best Pop Album of the Year. Billboard (2023 and 2024) also named him an “Artist to Watch.”
Today, Alfonso Terán continues to expand the boundaries of country music with a Latin soul. Combining two musical cultures and transforming them into his own language has made him the pioneer of Latin Country Music also the title of his latest album.
