Alice Blankenship is a classical violinist, a baroque violinist, an aspiring Scandinavian folk fiddler, and fledgling arranger, composer, and indie artist. She loves many genres of music, loves and teaching any age of student. With clarinetist Michael Anderson, Alice formed the duo Violette. For Christmas 2021, she created Advent to Wassail, an arrangement of two traditional carols (Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel and On Christmas Night/Sussex Carol) that features Violette plus her son Francis on piano. She also arranged two carols for the unusual ensemble of soprano, violin, tenor saxophone, and bass clarinet. Angels We Have Heard on High is released on Spotify, and Carol of the Bells will soon be released. Both carols feature soprano Erika Taylor, and saxophonist, Nathanael Peterson-Blankenship.
