ATWN is a Punk group from Johannesburg, South Africa. It started as a lofi recording project in 2011, and in 2013 became a folk punk duo performing live with guitar and washboard. Due to its roots as a recording project there is still some experimentation with recording and collaboration. Lyrics are often politically charged while having roots in personal therapy / expression. The core of the group is Shaun Richards and Conley Annandale, who both operate the local DIY punk platform We Did This Records in between trying to survive under capitalism.
