Alter the Sky are a 5 piece hard classic rock band from the Cambridgeshire area.
The band formed in June 2015, A self-titled EP release came out back in May 2016 which the was self-produced, but having moved on a long way in the last 2 years, AtS decided to record a second EP to better showcase themselves. In 2018 AtS went into the studio with producer Dan J Lambert of the Valhalla Music Group to record their EP ‘Fortune Favours the Bold’ which was received well by online reviewers and streaming sites, totalling over 120,000 streams on Spotify to date.
In 2019 the band parted ways with their drummer and it wasn’t until October 2019 that Michael O’Neill joined the band. Keen to get some new material released, they booked themselves into Headline Music Studios to work with producer Piers Mortimer (Deep Purple / Skunk Anansie) to record their latest single ‘Sanctuary’.
The band draw influence from bands such as Black Stone Cherry, Alter Bridge, and the Wildhearts. Their sound is guitar driven and riffy with the odd hook thrown in for good measure. AtS have been fortunate enough to have already played and secured gigs at their home towns most prestigious venues and festivals, (The Junction J1, J2, Big Weekend and Strawberry Fair) as a result of their energetic and humorous live shows. If you like huge sounding guitars and powerful vocals mixed with face gurning guitar solos and energetic live show then Alter the Sky are most definitely the band you will need to come and see.
