Altisonic is a rock band from Budapest-Hungary, founded in late 2019. Formed by Ákos Kostyan (bass), Angel Szimeonov (drums), and João Figueiredo (vocals/guitar), the band unites members from Hungary, Bulgaria and Brazil, bringing together diverse cultural backgrounds.
Musically, Altisonic blends elements of pop, prog, funk, metal, and ethnic music to create a distinct, catchy, and energetic sound. Their songs cover a wide range of themes, some reflecting specific or unusual experiences and others with metaphorical insights, sometimes offering critiques of certain issues in our society. Listeners can expect topics like wishful thinking, psychology, pessimism, psychedelic elements, and dramatic events throughout their music, creating a truly diverse mix.
Their debut album, Venturis, was released in 2024, showcasing a blend of musical influences, introspective lyrics, and dynamic instrumentals. The album reflects the band’s journey through the "pandemic years" (2020-2023), exploring a range of themes with intensity and depth. Venturis emerged from a period of intense creative work, with each member drawing on their unique backgrounds to produce a cohesive yet eclectic sound.
The band is currently working on new material for their second record and preparing for upcoming gigs in Budapest.
