I love melodies. And to play with words and lyrics. The way music feels. When it’s right – you feel it. When it’s not – you feel that too.
Not all music is for everyone. But all music is for someone.
I love what Nina Simone said about an artist’s duty being to reflect the times. To describe our world. Try to make sense of it. I strive to put into words and sound what I feel, what I think. I try to understand myself. To make sense of me and my world. In that – maybe someone will recognize themselves. Or disagree completely. But find out something about themselves. Feel.
To be happy I need to do this. And be with people who love the same thing. We need to be with our people, the ones who understand our hearts and souls, I guess. And what a privilege to be able to do what you love. To know what you love. I love to write. And sing.
Oh well, enough rambling. All in all - I’m just hoping someone wants to hear my stuff. Keeping my fingers crossed!
