Pioneer of the blues in Bahia and one of the biggest names in brazilian blues scene, Álvaro Assmar performed and recorded regularly as a solo artist since the end of the 80s, being a widely regarded name mainly because of his slide guitar technique. In addition to his remarkable history as a blues artist celebrated throughout Brazil, Álvaro had a strong work as a music producer and executive producer, with the founding the Wednesday Blues project (1999-2003) and the Educadora Blues radio show, for Rádio Educadora FM BA. The artist passed away at the end of 2017, leaving a huge legacy for the brazilian blues fans and younger artists.
