Always Wednesday is a moody pop duo formed by best friends Patrick Hamilton and Matthew Fleming during the Covid-19 pandemic. The duo began writing their debut EP Amalfi to explore ideas of isolation and loneliness during the long Canadian winter.
Hamilton and Fleming now in their mid 20s met in high-school where they bonded over a mutual love for music. Playing together in Toronto indie band Shipley Hollow, the band’s album “Normal Soup” was ranked in the top ten Toronto Albums of 2015 by BlogTO. Following the boys departure from their math-rock roots Hamilton and Fleming found inspiration in electronic and pop music. Drawing on new influences from R&B and pop artists like Kehlani, Jhene aiko and H.E.R. This coupled with their love for rock and emo artists like The Wonder Years and Dance Gavin Dance is what shapes the sound of Always Wednesday.
