Amakusa

It was at the day of April Fool when several friends, mostly from the Faculty of Humanities, University of Indonesia, decided to name their band Amakusa. The name was taken from their favorite character of a game. As avid gamers, they really like fighting games so much.

The band carve their way through the very heart of Indonesian Japanese pop culture communities (J-Indo) while covering numbers of <a href="spotify:artist:4VrqQQy6X0hlMtqY5gp6Wx" data-name="X JAPAN">X JAPAN</a> songs. Not to stop as a cover band, they took years of experience to write their own songs. Hence, the band took Japanese influenced heavy metal/progressive music with slice of life lyrics as their forte.

Barry Aryandi, the vocalist, is the leader and the sole original band member since its formation in 2004. The rest of the members are Asep Rachman Muchlas, the bass player (of <a href="spotify:artist:3uwdymBxKGcd88iZV4Ffey" data-name="Wonderbra">Wonderbra</a>; <a href="spotify:artist:5c5CXKiz8tAjtMWoLXn2G0" data-name="Sambat">Sambat</a>) Raja Aria Octivano (of <a href="spotify:artist:1iMFKNHG91i9ljZnR8qjx3" data-name="Dai*Shi">Dai*Shi</a>) on drums and percussions; July Arianto (of Saturhythm) and Wahyu Ekananda Soenarto (of <a href="spotify:artist:1Qm9qPnxFM2du6zu9f0q5J" data-name="Euphorion">Euphorion</a>) on guitars; Dira Rahimsyah (of <a href="spotify:artist:2zKitynKVUCT5UV1mGTF4Z" data-name="Meyza">Meyza</a>) on keyboards and synth.

The former members includes Rudye of <a href="spotify:artist:48gO8jjKswl2kKZ6rigiFG" data-name="Revara">Revara</a> (plays drum and keyboard in amakusa), Bay Guitaro of <a href="spotify:artist:3eAldiL8lDNwT4AJZEpH1i" data-name="Flag of Hate">Flag of Hate</a>; <a href="spotify:artist:5c5CXKiz8tAjtMWoLXn2G0" data-name="Sambat">Sambat</a> (guitar), <a href="spotify:artist:485XfRmPwwn8nxaOJRemed" data-name="Eben Andreas">Eben Andreas</a> of <a href="spotify:artist:1voQq8ERwGWVG2syMoFM58" data-name="Kras">Kras</a> (guitar), Yuyu Hideto of One Fine Friday (guitar), Indra Wirawan (guitar), Rizki Musthafa Arisun of <a href="spotify:artist:7M0kFXsb845m3nrR4EmPfG" data-name="Musatori Project">Musatori Project</a> (drums/keyboards), and Anton Wibisono (bass).

Known to have a splendid stage performance, theis band is determined to bring the best musical performances and recordings to fulfill the expectations of their fans.
