Amanda here! It felt silly to write in 3rd person because I’m clearly the one writing this and being formal is boring.
Long story short: all of my music is born out of a love for 90s R&B, strong country women, big vocals like Celine Dion & Christina Aguilera, and honest story telling—I swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me baby Jesus.
I've always tended to overshare and be annoyingly, bluntly honest. While that's sometimes weird and awkward in “real” life, in songwriting and music creation it's actually a huge asset. If you’re unembarrassed to talk about things you’re not proud of or the struggles you’re working through, it creates a more relatable story to tell.
If Mariah Carey and The Chicks had a baby and that baby grew up loving to overshare and sing, that’s my music. I hope you enjoy it but if you don’t, life, and a decent amount of therapy and antidepressants, has taught me I’m not for everyone and that’s okay :)
