Ambient Lounge is a musical collaboration two decades in the making — a creative journey that began in Melbourne’s back-alley basements and drifted north to the sun-bleached shores of Byron Bay; before echoing across faraway sessions in London & Boston. What started as unstructured melodic jam sessions between friends slowly evolved into a body of songs shaped by life, distance, time… and an unshakeable bond between the artists who created them.
At the heart of Ambient Lounge’s music lies the spirit of two extraordinary people: Chris Goudge & Chris Gunst — gifted musicians, soulful minds & close friends who left the world far too young. Their melodies, ideas, designs & fingerprints run through most songs and projects. This tracks are in many ways, a living tribute to their art, energy & stories that can find new life - rather than being stuck on old tapes in a closet.
Guiding this collective is Grant Morris, chief songwriter & lifelong collaborator, who spent time shaping, revisiting, and completing these tracks with a rotating family of talented musicians. Ambient Lounge will continue evolving, drawing from the back catalogue and new inspirations to honour the journey & feeling .. and the soft luxury records ethos.
