Forged in the fog of Ljubljana’s underground, Ambra is a five-piece band blending the weight of alternative metal with the intricacy of progressive textures. Since its inception as an instrumental trio in 2015, the band has evolved into a dynamic and emotionally charged unit, currently featuring Andrej Blatnik and Žiga Kroflič on guitars, Anže Vavpetič on bass, Robi Rep on drums, and Jakob Rejec on vocals.

Ambra's sound is rooted in a wide spectrum of heavy music, drawing inspiration from the likes of Mastodon, Tool, Clutch, Gojira, Nevermore, and All Them Witches, while also weaving in the haunting atmospheres reminiscent of Chelsea Wolfe and Cult of Luna. The result is a sonic identity that is as massive and riff-driven as it is atmospheric and introspective.

Their first EP (2016) gained attention in Slovenia’s underground scene for its raw, instrumental storytelling. With their debut album Cor (2019), the band opened up new emotional and sonic territories—layering dissonant harmonies, shifting structures, and lyrical introspection. Following a lineup change and several years of focused writing, Ambra is now finalizing their sophomore album, due out in spring 2025 and produced by Ben McLeod (All Them Witches).

Known for their meticulous approach to songwriting , Ambra builds songs as evolving emotional structures rather than formulaic arrangements. Their music is a cathartic, immersive experiences—where heaviness meets vulnerability and structure embraces chaos.
