Madagascar, 1980. Zo RAMAROMISA, 16 years old, decided to be a song-writer and then wrote the funk classic Give Me A Pinch. Three years later, he moved to Grenoble, France, with an already huge repertoire of FUNK, SOUL and TERNO music, played by several bands he founded. In 1993, he became the producer Amiga Loba and created the BOOGIE FUNK concept band AMEEGA. 3 albums, 3 4-tracks vinyl maxis and 4 compilations have been released.
Ameega performed from the south of France to Paris, then L.A where a fringe of the californian youth has claimed to be part of the "Funkysize Now Babe Generation", in reference to that other Ameega's classic. The band's classics are funk Djs must spin, covered by rappers, skin tattooed and serve as wedding songs or even funerals! Real phenomenon and living legend, Ameega is introduced as "The Last Mohican of Boogie Funk" during its first tour in California in 2012. Headlining with the legendary Ozone band in 2015, for a Los Angeles tour called "I Am The Funk Tour", Ameega participated in the revival of this Funk. In August 2019, Ameega shared the stage with historical funk bands such as Brass Construction, Midnight Stars, Tom Browne and other Yarbrough & Peoples, on the occasion of the "OC Funk Fest" that year honoring the late Rick James. Consecrated as a classic Funk band, Ameega is also introduced as the spearhead of the current "Orange County Funk" cultural movement.
Today, AMEEGA, 3 to 8 piece band is based in Montpellier, France.
