AmenA started singing as a child and music was also the only thing she could take with her when she fled Yemen to Sweden in the wake of war.
In Sweden, her career has quickly taken off: her appearance as a duet guest at Håkan Hellström's sold-out Ullevi concerts last summer and her participation in Idol 2021 brought her magnificent presence and emotive voice to hundreds of thousands of people across Sweden.
AmenA likes to paint her songs in colors, images and grand emotions. Gesturing over a thick drawing pad full of sketches, she explains how she creates, short pieces recorded in voice memos and ideas then realized with the album's producer Stefan Örn in the Argle Bargle studio.
Inspiration is drawn from a wide palette of listening: Aurora, Lana Del Rey, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen and Tamino are some of the most influential in her artistry. The road to her debut album has been a bumpy one, and from the beginning AmenA had no intention of becoming an artist.
