Ameng

Ameng started making a name for himself when he joined Spring and produced his first album in 1991. The group’s popularity escalated after they recorded their second album in 1992.

The popular single, Sampai Hati produced by Datuk M Nasir, recorded several sweet histories, thus placing them in the list of famous music groups such as Search, Wings, Mega and Iklim.

They continue to make strides by producing several other albums such as Bourgenvilla (1994), Jujur (1995), Pujaan Gemilang (1995), Spring 5 (1996), Luahan (1997) and many more.

Spring is known through a collection of hit songs such as Bourgenvilla, Butakah Cinta, Sepi Tanpa Cinta, Sejujur Mana Kata-Kata, Persada Cintaku, Romantis, Kita Ditakdirkan Jatuh Cinta, Kerana Budi Ku Jatuh Hati and Pesanan Buat Kekasih.

More than a decade together, Spring parted ways in 2001 after producing the album Hati Mahu Baik.

The disband of Spring did not stop Ameng from getting the trust of Sony Music Entertainment, when he came out with a solo album, Langkah Semakin Jauh. The album also challenged Ameng’s ability to step out of his comfort zone by trying out contemporary pop concepts. Ameng’s vocal ability, which is already acknowledged by many, helped the album that features an injection of Arabic, Persian and Latin music elements to garner the attention of the fans.
