American Beauty Standards is a dynamic three-piece band from Austin, Texas, blending a modern take on the raw energy and infectious hooks of early 2000s alternative rock. Previously known as the Beatnik Bandits, their new sound has been described as “nostalgic, but better”. Comprised of Sam Bass (vocals/guitar), Steven Buehler (bass), and Hunter Lenington (drums), American Beauty Standards brings a fresh yet familiar energy to the scene, appealing to both new listeners and fans of the era’s iconic sound.
American Beauty Standards’ upcoming full-length album Waterboy, marks a bold new chapter in the band’s evolving sound. The trio has built a strong foundation with years of live experience, playing thousands of shows across the U.S. and Canada. They’ve made waves at SXSW, performed at an NPR Artist Showcase, (invited by Bob Boilen, the creator of Tiny Desk), and completed two international tours with Blue October.
