Memos is AMIR’s first-ever release.
Written mostly in nature and recorded everywhere from a college fraternity house to a home studio to the legendary 2200 Studios in Sausalito, Memos captures the raw beginnings of an artist discovering his sound and vulnerably interpreting his heart along the way. Each song is paired with its original voice memo — the literal spark of creation — many featuring the voice of Amir’s close friend and producer, Kolby Lieman.
Though Amir and Kolby grew up just ten minutes apart in the Bay Area, they didn’t meet until years later in Los Angeles. Known for his work in rap with artists like MoneySign Suede and Peezy, Kolby stumbled across a video of Amir performing at a house show and immediately knew there was something special there. Six months later, the two had built a project that feels as intimate as a late-night conversation and as honest as the notes it came from.
Kolby put it simply:
“Working with Amir has been the coolest collaborative experience I’ve had making music. Everything comes easy — and I know he’s going to make a huge impact on the industry and people’s lives."
