A vocalist, songwriter, and music therapist - Amira Gill grew up in the cultural hotpot that is New Delhi, India. Diving into the indie music circuit of Delhi at 14, she had opportunities to perform as a professional and write original music in a collaborative band set up at an early age. Expanding her understanding of music and skillset as a musician, she completed her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA.
Exposed to and heavily influenced by the Folk Music of North India and the Middle-East, the Soul & RnB music that comes from the Americans of African descent, and the popular music of the 90s and 2000s India and The West - all of the music has been absorbed into her artistry.
A singer of songs that span cultures, Amira does not believe in the limitations of genre or languages. You will hear her musical influences in her original music - written in Hindi, English, and Punjabi - and in her interpretations of regional & folk tunes from countries across the globe.
