Born in St. Louis, MO, in 1976, folk chanteuse Amy Jane began her formal voice training at an early age as a member of the St. Louis Children's Choir. In high school, Amy Jane sang with the choir across the nation, including two performances at Carnegie Hall, as well as touring Europe, with performances in Moscow, Vienna, Salzburg, and Prague. After attending MIT and receiving a degree in computer science, Jane collaborated with musician and producer Rich Marcello on her debut album Wide Open. Released in 2001, the record proved Jane a formidable, if gentle voice in the genre of folk-influenced pop, and garnered comparisons to Sarah McLachlan and Natalie Merchant. ~ Charles Spano, Rovi
