Anam Amara is a five-piece Montpellier-based band founded in 2022 by Basile Gros, current drummer, and Kelian Hargous, guitarist. Soon after the creation of the band, their search for a singer and bassist led them to current singer, Leyna Domon and bassist, Karin Pathy. They describe their sound as alternative rock, leaning towards progressive rock. They draw inspiration from rock, metal, jazz and more. The band started out briefly as a cover-band. In 2023, they decided to take their project a step further, and took in current keyboardist, Thomas Piau and began playing their own compositions. Come September 2024, they released their first ever single on all platforms. Their themes vary, but mostly relate to topics such as relationships, despair, loneliness and even madness. They are performing in and around Montpellier, and one day hope to perform in other cities.
