Ananda Vaughan is a guitarist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music reflects a rich tapestry of World and American traditions. With over 35 years of experience on guitar, Ananda has cultivated a sound that is both versatile and unmistakably his own.
His latest album, The Way Forward, earned notable recognition with two songs featured by the renowned world music label Putumayo. Prior to that, his releases on the Jumpsuit Records label followed a vibrant period of touring and collaborating with The Polish Ambassador and Ayla Nereo.
Deeply inspired by artists such as Julian Lage, Pat Metheny, Dave Matthews, Ali Farka Touré, Michael Hedges, and David Grisman, Ananda weaves together uplifting compositions grounded in jazz, blues, and folk roots. His innovative guitar and mandolin work reflect a lifetime of dedication to musical exploration and heartfelt expression. He lives and works in the Grass Valley area as a teacher, studio musician, and member of the duo BrightSide Blue.
