Born & raised in Zimbabwe, London-based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and designer Ananya, is true to the essence of her namesake. Unique.
Armed with lethal vocals and marble eyes, Ananya invites her audience on a journey into inner strength, self-worth, and our innate ability to reshape our destiny.
Having released her debut EP i woke up one night in October 2023, the project amassed over 1 million streams, with fan favorites “i feel so new,” “gone (forever)”, and “bad for you,” leading the 7 track EP. Signifying her recognition that many of her creative sparks originate from the realm of dreams, Ananya acknowledges that her most profound introspections tend to surface during the quiet of the night. i woke up one night leaves room for interpretation, inviting listeners to speculate whether she was stirred awake by a haunting nightmare, inspired by a dream, or perhaps grappling with restlessness struggling to return to slumber. Taking shape between Cape Town and London, fragments of the songs are rooted in Ananya’s hometown, Harare, and received praise from GQ South Africa, Wonderland Mag, BBC, iHeartRadio, and more.
