And Is Phi is a multidisciplinary artist based in South East London via Norway and the Philippines. After making music for over a decade through a plethora of collaborations she dropped her debut album ‘Double Pink’. This body of work offers a soulful, left field, and reflective exploration of liminal spaces, metamorphosis, and the multiple faces of love.
The album received acclaim from Dazed and the Guardian, with radio play from BBC radio, Jazz FM, and Soho Radio. She performed the project live at the Southbank Centre, Stroud Jazz Festival, Brick Lane Festival, and We Out Here.
A few seasons later she released her EP ‘Twice Blushed’, featuring remixes by Wonky Logic, Footshooter, Marysia Osu, a flip by D'Vo (Tilé Gichigi-Lipére), and new work with Hector Plimmer. The EP is a reimagining and extension of the Double Pink universe, explored through a much heavier electronically driven landscape.
She’s also a painter, illustrator, curator, and educator of Art & Design. Moving between singing, writing, and visual art offers an inter-weaving of creative conversation that at its heart all contribute to her practice of ‘world building’.
At present her new work in the making, both visually and sonically, are exploring themes of living in a time of depression and great social and political shifting. Somewhere between the strife and supernatural magic of everyday life is an invitation to imagine our next steps.
