andie schoen is the kind of man who answers the question, “what if ‘muppets from space’ (1999) was a person?” based in a small town in new york, he has 97 illnesses and is banned from most public spaces. he decided to write a song one day when he was 8 years old and hasn’t stopped since — and he’s tried. now, at 22, he’s (arguably) diy indie music’s hottest dumpster fire.
since 2016, andie has independently written, recorded, and produced 2 eps and 5 albums about isolation, abandonment, and anguish from his bedroom that have disturbed and comforted thousands. he is best known for his 2021 album “growing all the way up,” his final work made using only garageband for iphone and earbuds from the dollar store. if you’re looking for music that is unabashedly kitschy and almost abrasively uncool, andie is your guy.
