Andreas Tengblad

Andreas Tengblad is a Swedish film composer and multi-instrumentalist musician who creates genuine, heartfelt compositions in a wide variety of musical styles.

He has the ability to combine the intimate sounds of an indie artist with the grace of a symphonic composer. This range is obvious when looking at such disparate musical endeavors such as I Heard Your Name (Original Television Soundtrack) (the cozy lead theme for ”Älska Mig”), ominous thriller dramas like Knutby (Original Series Soundtrack) and Taelgia (Original Series Soundtrack), the grandiose and full-fledged sci-fi adventure score of Ensamma I Rymden, and the fast-paced quirky heist-esque music of Spelskandalen (Musik från TV-serien).

Tengblad has a background in jazz, initially as a bass player. For over 10 years, he was a touring musician in many different constellations, including contemporary dance performances and for artists such as Anna von Hausswolff.

While studying jazz in the early aughts, he complemented his upright bass expertise with cello and then violin. From there, he has added a wide range of instruments to his arsenal, making him a proficient multi-instrumentalist to go along with his diverse compositional style.

One of Tengblad’s creative motivators is his curiosity for exploring new sounds in each project. He draws inspiration from many corners of the world, a quality he shares with his recurring compositional companion Joel Danell, also known as Sven Wunder.
