I grown up in a music family. I started with the classical guitar lessons at the age of seven, before that I was banging drum "grooves" on empty boxes. After 5 years of classical guitar in Trieste (Italy) I decided it was time to move on and sat behind real drums. I played like a drummer, percussionist, guitarist and bassist in several bands, projects and recording sessions in Slovenia and around. In 2005 I started learning Afro-Cuban percussion, congas, bongos, etc. . From September 2006 till March 2010 I was living and regularly performing and recording in the London area, UK. In June 2009 I graduated at the London College of Music. I was also a regular member of the LCM Big Band, where I was playing latin percussion and drums. Around the same time I was working as a session drummer for Tech Music Schools London for about 3 years. In 2010 I released the debut album with my group then, “The Open Trio“, in 2012 was released the 2nd album of the same group, entitled »Open Your Mind«. In 2012 I formed my own band, under my name "Andrej Pirjevec – AP GROUP", where I plays bass and was writing all the music and arrangements for the band. In 2014 I pushed the limits of my creativity and put together a multi-media theatre play dedicated to the poet Srečko Kosovel. The show was a big success.
I am also a drum, percussion and bass teacher, privately and in music schools too. I am now living in Slovenia-EU and working all around the world, with many different and interesting artists.
