Songwriter from Tijuana, México, has been composing alternative folk with Nordic, American and British influences since 2013. Andrés Amez has a folk style in his guitar that is complemented by his soft and peculiar voice. Living in Sweden and in Japan has inspired him lyrics that constantly describe a feeling of “being and not being here”.
His music and lyrics show us a desire for feeling and living once again a nomad life, but at the same time reminds us that we should not forget where we come from. His first independent EP “Whenever I’m Gone” was released in October 2016 with a foundation of alternative folk sounds, and with songs that tell us stories that feel both close and far.
In 2018, Andrés Amez was noted by TimeOut Magazine – Mexico City as one of the “10 Must-See Mexican Bands for this coming 2018”.
