“You’re world-class” - John Mayer 2018
From lacking the strength to sing to performing in front of millions of people on Season 20 of NBC’s The Voice, Andrew Marshall has experienced more than most at the age of twenty-six.
At the age of 16 he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) which completely altered his life and perspective as a teenager. Through the long treatment process, Andrew rediscovered his love for writing and performing music, a passion he often repressed in his adolescent and teenage years.
Motivated and validated by his community at school and meeting his musical idol, John Mayer, via Make-A-Wish, Marshall doubled down on his pursuit of becoming a full-time recording artist and in 2020 was recruited to be on The Voice Season 20, where he finished as a quarter-finalist. His success on the platform drove him to continue his development by moving down to Nashville, TN to continue learning and pursuing his own original music.
Marshall hopes to introduce his new sound and writing style to the world and make his listeners feel a little less alone, just like music always did during his most difficult days in treatment for leukemia.
