Andrew McCubbin is an internationally acclaimed producer, singer, songwriter and teller of stories. Over the last 15 years he has divided his time between the UK, Europe and Australia and has many places he calls home. For now Melbourne is where he hangs his hat.
His music has received the accolades of Single of the Week and Single of the Year for songs such as The Fog Song, The Last Breeze and Blue. He’s also received the accolade of Album of the Week for Dead Pilot, Hope Addicts and Where Once There was a Fire plus, Album of the Year for Where Once There was a Fire alongside Public Image Limited and Kraftwerk.
He’s shared the stage with some of the best such as M Ward (USA) & The Creatures (UK).
On his 5th studio album, Where Once There was a Fire, he’s joined by Melinda Kay on vocals and keys, Chris Hughes (Mick Harvey) on drumscapes and Andy Pap (Horace Andy – Massive Attack) on bass.
The album has been likened to the National, Leonard Cohen, Mazzy Star and Mark Lanegan & Isobel Campbell and swims with guitars, strings and choirs luring the listener to the rocks.
