Andy Broad has been a full time travelling blues musician for more than 25 years, and he has driven tens of thousands of miles, delivering his passion for the blues to venues far and wide. Since starting out playing the street he has played every
type of venue from bars, clubs and restaurants, to theatres, art centres, private houses, cathedrals and an ancient Roman church in France.
Whilst performing to an ever growing fan base throughout the UK, Andy
has taken his music to Europe, including France, Germany and Belgium,
and in 2014 the west coast of the U.S.A.
His blues is raw and funky, and draws in
many influences, from Lightnin’ Hopkins, through Robert Johnson and Son House, onto the sounds of Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf and John Lee Hooker to the funkier soulful sounds of Robert Cray and Albert Collins. Added to this mix
you will occasionally hear Latin hints, spiced with melodies from Africa and India. A vibrant sound, guaranteed to entertain.
Solo he delivers the music via agile and florid finger picking, combined with flamboyant slide playing, and passionate vocals, tied down with a steady foot stomping beat.
@Walker Broad
"Clever and accomplished guitar work embellished with
a resonant clear vocal ... some fine slide"
Bob Chaffey - "Blues In Britain"
"... some superb picking and stupendous vocals"
Russell Hill − "Maverick"
"As good a Delta representation as you’re likely
to get from someone this side of the pond."
Tom Walker − "Blues Matters"
