Angell Mutoni

Angell Mutoni is a fervent Poet/Rapper and Singer-Songwriter hailing from Kigali, Rwanda ; a rising Rwandan music star with a unique blend of Afro-Hiphop, Soul, and Pop. Her passion for music started young, fueled by her artistic family.

Since her debute in 2014, She has released multiple successsful mixtapes and EPs, and her talent has been recognized with a nomination for the prestigious RFI Prix Découvertes and an African Music Academy award in the songwriter category .
Her journey has been punctuated by captivating performances at renowned showcases and festivals across East-Africa, including Blankets & Wine, Kigali Up, Amani Festival, Bayimba Festival, etc.

She also performed as the opening act for the opening of the Commonwealth Women’s Forum during the CHOGM 2022 in Kigali. In that same year, Mutoni got a chance to showcase her music at the Pop Kultur Festival in Berlin, Germany through the Goethe Talent Program for which she was selected among 9 other participants.
Angell Mutoni isn't just a hip hop artist she's a leader who empowers other female musicians through her Eclectic Nappy Heads Collective.
Always seeking new sounds and collaborations, she's also the co-host of "The Kila Kitu Podcast," where they delve into various topics with guests.

Angell Mutoni is currently working on her first album that will be released in 2025.
