Minneapolis-born producer and artist Angelo Bombay is known for his genre-blending sounds and high-output work ethic, dropping a song every week for the past three years. His latest album, Drumbreak Boy (Jan 29, 2025), fuses drumbreaks with hard 808s. Upcoming projects include Doomsday (April 1, 2025), Apotheosis (July 1, 2025), and electronic album Bombaytron (TBA).
Angelo helped define Twin Cities hip-hop, producing “Ego” for Tha Rift, J. Plaza, and Daddy Dinero, leading to their signing with Rostrum Records as FreeWifi. He worked on Max B album producing “Favorite Man”, Nick Travae & Yung Simmie on “That’s Me”, and Ashley All Day on “Work” & “Shup All Day” from his album Terraform. In 2023, he dropped “God Damn Lie” with Finding Novyon, Bobby Raps, and BFB Da Packman.
Surviving a 2020 accident where a car crashed into his bedroom, Bombay responded with the 100-song project Bombay’s Beats. That year, he also released Akashic Records, praised in the electronic scene for its “Timeless” visual. Beyond Blissful (2021) fused jazz, boom-bap, and electronic sounds, featuring South Korean pianist Nahee. His 2023 album Lord of the Bongo featured the pixel-art visual “Dirty Kitty” that was praised amongst cat lovers.
With his relentless creativity and cross-genre collaborations, Angelo continues to push boundaries in hip-hop and electronic music.
