Anna Elizabeth Laube

Long version: Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Anna Elizabeth Laube, creates what NPR describes as "Intimate, heartfelt songs rooted in traditional Americana." Her songs have been heard on Netflix ("Virgin River" and "Locke & Key"), as well as on MTV, NPR, The BBC, and The Criterion Collection.

Laube (pronounced Lau like &#34;how&#34; and be like &#34;bee&#34;) was raised in the Midwest (USA) on classical music, <a href="spotify:artist:7nwUJBm0HE4ZxD3f5cy5ok" data-name="Aretha Franklin">Aretha Franklin</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3WrFJ7ztbogyGnTHbHJFl2" data-name="The Beatles">The Beatles</a>, and started playing the guitar in high school after hearing an <a href="spotify:artist:4wM29TDTr3HI0qFY3KoSFG" data-name="Indigo Girls">Indigo Girls</a> song. After moving to San Francisco, she started writing songs and recording in her bedroom studio, and soon released her first album, <a href="spotify:album:0QYVJ0SUl8cICwLkpI8qba" data-name="Outta My Head">Outta My Head</a>, on her own label.

Laube toured extensively, traveling the USA and selling records out of the trunk of her Prius, inspired by DIY folk artists like <a href="spotify:artist:0AiTwNtYX8m4uhfU7rJ8RD" data-name="Ani DiFranco">Ani DiFranco</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:478LE6WL6BARBaLU2NHefl" data-name="Sean Hayes">Sean Hayes</a>. Three more records followed: <a href="spotify:album:2i68Q6wsB0jX3ZFpA1WpBJ" data-name="Pool All The Love * Pool All The Knowledge">Pool All The Love * Pool All The Knowledge</a>, <a href="spotify:album:4ScROjDOWSK3zW1jt7No9B" data-name="Anna Laube">Anna Laube</a> (released shortly before she started using her full name), and <a href="spotify:album:3pALJvtTxIm5i1aYlaZDnA" data-name="Tree">Tree</a>. In 2021, Laube released a retrospective entitled <a href="spotify:album:69T4ATP1PgvSOkCOv2P6N8" data-name="Annamania">Annamania</a>, and in 2023 she released her 5th studio album, <a href="spotify:album:43c7uNhBeLbEP0GBVSRYGZ" data-name="Wild Outside">Wild Outside</a>.
