Anna Ferrer sings, composes, and deconstructs songs from other times. She nurtures and harvests popular root music, demystifying it and making it universal. This is how her music draws inspiration from tradition while evolving into unique soundscapes infused with synthesizers.
Her first two solo works, “Teluria” and “Krönia” —alongside collaborations with artists like Marco Mezquida, Eliseo Parra, Clara Peya, Silvia Pérez Cruz, and Clara Fiol, as well as her previous role as a vocalist in OMAC or Coetus— have served as an exploratory avenue to liberate her singing: inextricably linked to a musical heritage she has cultivated since the age of three, she has reimagined traditional forms of jotas, boleros, and romances, freeing them from the constraints of time. This journey culminated in “Parenòstic”, the title of a live performance that has traveled to London, Morocco, Italy, and Peru, with over fifty concerts. It is a hypnotic performance directed by Niño de Elche.
Anna Ferrer’s newest project “PA” encapsulates a musical and performative show in which the singer-songwriter ritualizes the transmission of her paternal lineage’s trade — four generations of bakers. The performance fuses craftsmanship and artistic creation, celebrating the freedom to reinterpret her family heritage, and prioritizes a documentary-inspired production, embracing an organic and innovative aesthetic, far from conventional electronic folk.
