Anna Pest

Founded by April Hutchins in 2015 as a solo project, Anna Pest has evolved from a one-person creative outlet into a powerhouse metal band based in Montreal, Quebec. What began as an exploration of various metal subgenres culminated in a distinct sound that defies easy categorization, blending technical deathcore intensity with a daringly eclectic array of influences.

In late 2022, Anna Pest's lineup solidified with the addition of April Sada Solomon on bass and Colin MacAndrew (of Ashbreather) on drums, transforming the project into a full-fledged collaborative force. Together, they weave intricate, dynamic compositions that evolve sonically from release to release, sometimes even shifting styles within the same track.

Anna Pest's lyrical content is as varied and eclectic as their music, delving into a wide range of topics including mental illness, identity exploration, social issues, love & loss, and beyond, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and beloved works of fiction.
