Anna Sylvia's electronic alt-pop is a merge of dark, distinct sounds, rousing beats and philosophical, metaphorical lyrics. With energy like Aurora, rawness like Highasakite and vocal lines like London Grammar and Agnes Obel, her debut EP "PARADIGM I", released in the autumn of 2021, is the first chapter of many more to come.
In 2020 Anna Sylvia graduated cum laude as a songwriter at the Codarts Conservatory of Rotterdam,
where she met her band and Sjoerd Huissoon, the producer of PARADIGM I and half of electronic duo AMY ROOT. Leading up to her debut EP, Anna Sylvia experimented by writing with different people in various styles, languages and alter ego's, exploring herself and her musical direction.
"I grew up as a nomad. Although my roots are in nature in the dunes of Texel, I was raised in the city of Amsterdam and traveled back and forth for many years. And now, as I am still feeling like I'm somewhere in between those two worlds, my music became my way to unite them. The result is 'adventure music', as an old band member of mine used to call it, merging both nature and city into one."
