The American alternative pop artist that many have come to know as Annie Goodchild, is now called ‘I Used to Be Sam.’ Her remarkable career has touched various corners of the earth, from the U.S. as a world-touring vocalist to <a href="spotify:artist:5HYNPEO2NNBONQkp3Mvwvc" data-name="Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox">Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox</a>, to performing in and out of Europe’s largest cities as the illustrious voice behind <a href="spotify:artist:0a4WHXBBYVupXtpgmvjAM7" data-name="Melou">Melou</a>, to finally opening for <a href="spotify:artist:3DiDSECUqqY1AuBP8qtaIa" data-name="Alicia Keys">Alicia Keys</a> in the city she now calls home - Basel, Switzerland.

After taking an Ancestry DNA test, Annie learned that before being adopted, she used to be named Samantha. After attempts to reconnect with her birth mother were met by re-rejection, Annie recounted this experience to a producer on a songwriting trip in Berlin. And from that moment, I Used To Be Sam was born.
