Adelaide based indie singer-songwriter Annie Higgins creates songs with earthy tones and optimistic lyrics. Her current batch of releases were born from two years of writing, celebrating and mulling over conversations about motherhood, brilliant dreams, loss and surprises.
The songs have a bit of the spiritual, the sass, the funk you want playing, on a chilled evening in. These are recordings created by warm blooded musicians in the Underfoot studios and recorded through a classic analogue 1984 MCI/Sony JH636 console by Sydney producer Mic.Hardwick.
Annie’s eclectic musical crushes include the Brand New Heavies, Amy Winehouse, Duffy, Lake Street Dive, Daft Punk. She also loves and weaves the influences of Thirsty Merc, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Wonder, Eva Cassidy, Maroon 5, D’Angelo, Uncle Jed, Fred Hammond, Bob Marley, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz into her tunes.
