From the heart of the Black Forest in Freiburg comes ANORAK – a band that channels melancholy, honesty, and intimacy into every note. Although the members had known each other for years and shared many experiences, the band officially came together in 2023. Shaped by personal struggles and shared histories, their encounters give birth to music that resonates deeply. ANORAK’s sound is a powerful blend of melancholic hardcore, female-fronted Screamo, Metalcore, and Midwestern Emo influences. The female vocals shift between soft, emotional singing and intense shouts, creating emotional peaks that invite listeners to truly feel. Each song is an open canvas, allowing listeners to discover their own stories. Their first single, “Nail Me Down”, explores loss and acceptance, while remaining open to individual interpretation. ANORAK stands as “your armor in the storms” – a safe space to experience and share emotions.
