Anthony Dom is a 22-year-old guitarist and band leader based out of Brooklyn, NY. He recently graduated from SUNY Purchase College’s Jazz Program at the Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Pasquale Grasso, Jon Faddis, and Eric Alexander. Since graduating, Anthony has been performing all around the NYC area with his jazz group, the Anthony Dom Quartet.
In addition to his Trio, Anthony actively works with artists as a session musician on both recordings and at live performances. He is musically diverse, and performs with artists of all genres, including pop, funk, R&B, rock, hip-hop, indie, and more. Some notable venues Anthony has played include Mercury Lounge, Piano’s, Rockwood Music Hall, The Wonder Bar, Merkin Concert Hall, and others.
Stylistically, Anthony Dom specializes in Bebop and Straight-Ahead jazz, and is highly influenced by artists including Bud Powell, Barry Harris, and Thelonious Monk. He aims to capture the authentic language of Bebop masters, while showcasing his technical abilities and unique voice on the guitar. While Anthony was formally trained in jazz, he has always been highly influenced by guitar greats Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and Eddie Van Halen. He prides himself on his ability to move fluidly between musical genres. Anthony Dom flourishes as a lead guitarist, while also being able to step back into the role of collaborator or sideman, depending on what the music calls for.
