Antti Kajander is a troubadour, singer songwriter, band leader and superior guitar player from Finland, a Northern country known for its harsh, cold and dark winters, endless swamp lands, dark humour and roaring metal bands.
For the past half a decade Kajander has been roaming the pubs and honky tonks and occasionally performing in the bigger concert halls, switching hats between being a solo performer with just a guitar and a voice or being a band leader and rock star with his bluesy and funky group, The Spanish Castle.
After switching to singing in English, Kajander’s career has taken him to perform succesful tours in Norway, Germany, Spain and the UK in addition to his native Finland.
Kajander began his career in 2003 as a front man of progressive hard rock unit, Idle Wolf. After the succesful cult band split after two EP’s and an album, Kajander moved to London, England and was soon discovered as unknown guitar talent. During The years spent in the UK, Kajander was featured as the main guitarist in the Quadrophenia rock opera for stage production, and Keith Tippett’s Jazz Ensemble.
The year 2021 has started promising for Kajander who is about to launch his first country album, ”Driving To Tuscaloosa,” in the summer. The first single, ”I’m Doin’ All Right” has been receiving high praises and also been played on the national radio among the Helsinki indie stations.
