Anuschka Wright

Pop, soul, funk, calypso, and everything in between; singer/songwriter Anuschka Wright captivates within a wide array of musical styles and genres. Having grown up surrounded by the sounds of the Caribbean in the islands of The Bahamas and later being formally trained and immersed in the fine art of Jazz in the city of Montreal, her vocal versatility comes as no surprise. Despite having such notable vocal flexibility, Anuschka chooses to simply describe herself as, “A Jazz singer”.

Vocally, she is inspired by Jazz greats such as Sarah Vaughan and Carmen McRae and singers of Jazz inspired genres such as Anita Baker, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. In performance however, she aims to embody the stage presence and allure of classic Hollywood heartstoppers such as Eartha Kitt, Dorothy Dandridge and Lena Horne. A vocal storyteller and leading lady in the making, Anuschka is an artist bringing back the soul connection to music and performance.
