Anushka Jag

Anushka Jag is an Indian singer and songwriter that splits her
time between Mumbai and Los Angeles. She expressed a passion
for music from an early age and has since completed several tours
throughout the United States, Asia, and the United Kingdom.
Back home in India her videos have aired on prestigious outlets
such as MTV and VH1, along with a recent long-form feature in
Rolling Stone Magazine. During her time in Los Angeles she’s
been hard at work, joining forces with Doyle Brahmul (Pink Floyd,
Eric Clapton), Kyle Kelso (Kygo), MILCK, and John Jones (Duran
Duran).

What many in the music world don’t know about her is that after
receiving her MSc from The London School of Economics and
Political Science, Anushka has worked as a TV journalist with a
major network NDTV in Mumbai. This has afforded her keen
insight into the world at large, and because of all she has
experienced her songs are empowered, yet not preachy.

Her latest single, “Rebirth” is a song very much rooted in
Anushka’s own spiritual beliefs. Hinduism prescribes the soul is
eternal and it takes on different physical forms in different lives
until one attains Nirvana. Rather than referencing actual death and
being reborn, we hear a tale of hitting rock bottom in the face of
betrayal and then rebuilding life and emerging stronger. Crafted by
prominent L.A. artist and producer Duddy Brown, this track will
resonate for anyone with a soul.
