Indian vocalist Anushka Shahaney, known mononymously by her stage name Anushqa, is a classically trained performer who came to fame in 2015 as finalist on season one of the televised singing competition The Stage. Following her time on The Stage, Anushqa moved into the world of Bollywood, contributing the songs "Lost Without You" and "Stay a Little Longer" to the soundtrack of 2017's Half Girlfriend.

Raised in Mumbai, Anushqa developed an interest in music at a young age, and trained in Western classical music at Trinity College. However, it was while earning her psychology degree in Canada that she realized she wanted to pursue music full-time. She began posting videos online and was subsequently conscripted by producers to compete on the first season of Indian reality TV show The Stage. A fan favorite, she made it to the finals, where she ultimately lost to champion Yatharth Ratnum.

From there, she launched her career recording the playback tracks "Lost Without You" and "Stay a Little Longer" for director Mohit Suri's 2017 film adaptation of the novel Half Girlfriend. The soundtrack was well received, and "Stay a Little Longer" earned Anushqa a nomination for Upcoming Female Vocalist of the Year at the Mirchi Music Awards. In 2018, she released her solo single "Ecstasy." ~ Matt Collar
